I got an e-mail last night about a new music video created using machinima in World of Warcraft by Mike Spiff Booth for the holiday classic “Podsafe Christmas Song” by Jonathan Coulton.
A huge thanks to both for allowing me to share this with all my homefries.
The year is coming to a close and thus it’s time to look back at some of the great podsafe music of the year. This isn’t a Top 10 show or anything like that. Just some of my favorite tunes and artists from the past year as I stop and reflect on what was one hell of an insane year for me on lots of levels.
2006 was a big year for myself and Accident Hash. As I talk about on the show I’ve met some amazing people, traveled to cool places and all along the way it’s been happening because of the voice I’ve found through podcasting.
As I look forward to 2007 I’m confident that I have no clue what is going to happen or where it is going to take me. Sure, I’ve got goals and ideas that I’m working on, but if there is anything I’ve learned in the world of new media it’s that you never know what’s next. That’s exciting on a whole new level and I thank all my homefries for coming along on the ride. It wouldn’t be the same without you.
January 10th will mark two years of Accident Hash so get in those audio comments if you want to. I’d love to have them from listeners, artists and anyone else. 206-888-4274 (HASH) is always the easiest way. Call anytime!
I spoiled the kids a bit this year with iPod shuffles that they really wanted to.
I found them in bed rocking out the other night while they were waiting for us to come and tuck them in. Since I loaded the music for them I know it’s all stuff they like or that I want to influence them with. *grin*
Last podcast of 2006? I sure hope not, but with a slew of audio problems from my new sound card I don’t know. I’m sure as hell going to try and push out at least one more Accident Hash before the clocks and calendars roll over to 2007. Wish me luck!
I really hope all these issues go away. Everything else is working fine except when I try to record a podcast. I’ve got something to tweak somewhere and it’s just a matter of time.
Thank you for another year of being a loyal listener! You guys and gals all rock!
Don’t forget that if you want a chance to win an autographed copy of Lee Coulter’s new CD Stereo Stills e-mail or call in an audio comment telling me “how podsafe music has changed your world.” The call in number is 206-888-4274!
I’ve been traveling so catching up on e-mail is never a fun thing. I’ve learned not to read my e-mail before recording if I can help it. Put me totally in the wrong frame of mind this morning. I apologize now if I sound like a grump on the show.
Sometimes you have to let things brew a bit before they get really good. This episode of Accident Hash starts nice and mellow and before the end will have you banging your head off a wall. Music from as divers places as Seattle and Bolivia. Gotta love it! I know I did.
If your looking for the Dirty sim after hearing me babble about it just go here. Also, be sure to check out Second Life Notes which is a great podcast focused on the culture and arts in SL. Finally, a huge thank you to Katja for sending me the Carlita track. I’m still smiling from listening to it.
As I mentioned on the show, domain names make great holiday gifts and since Hash3 gives you a great GoDaddy discount don’t be afraid to use it.
Click here to try iLike which I talked about on the show. I’m totally digging all the new tunes and finding out what my friends are listening to. I now know I don’t have the most eclectic tastes out there.
A VERY special guest that I’m so glad popped a bottle of valium just to host the show. You’ll have to listen to find out who it is, but I promise it’s all great music!
I said it on the show, but I’ll say it again here. Thank you to every listener who has ever taken the time to listen to a show. And to all of the artists who have embraced podcasting and allowed me to play their tunes. YOU make the show what it is!!
The agreement was that when we recieved the awards that we’d share a picture with the organizers of ourselves with the award and here is mine for the 2006 Best Music Podcast from the Podcast Peer Awards.
I love the whole DIY vibe of the trophy. Looks pretty damn cool on my desk.
The first snow of the season is falling in Boston so this puts me into a mellow mood for Accident Hash #199. Global tunes from around the globe including two from artists who just sent me music videos for a new project I’m working on. I’m still looking for more! 206-888-4274 for any holiday greetings or messages you’d like to leave me.
You read it right. Another Accident Mash with me and my buddy Ewan Spence from TPN Rock. I will warn you now that this one is all over the map with topics and everything else and it is not exactly family safe in all spots so listen with caution. I think it’s Ewan’s fault!
This now holds the record for the longest Accident Hash ever. We’re talking For Immediate Release length! *grin*
